Cheese-Top Burger

It's nice to be a hipster once in a while; joining the bandwagon before knowing who is driving it. And so it has come to this..

In the internets, there is a buzz spreading around about the new burger of KFC. And being the photo-blogger that I am, I present to you the infamous Cheese Top Burger:

(photographed at the most attractive angle)

I am not a food-blogger so I will not go into details on what I think about this burger. But I will say this; They say it is "streetwise." I say burger on the streets definitely taste better than this.

I hope this photo restores a little faith in all of us:

Broken

I know I have not posted a photo these past few days. I did not have the luxury of time to shoot :( But I have thought of an emergency subject that would surely excite you. But not this; a photo of my broken guitar:

Ignite!

Ah, fire. One does not simply play with fire. Specially when you are home alone. But still, this shot was worth the risk:

Shooting this was a little difficult at first as I was using my digicam. But after a little practice and learning, I finally managed to perfect. Well, not perfect at all in your perspective. But it is on mine.

Minimal editing was used as finishing touches for this photo (cropping, and adjusting of brightness and contrast).

I hope this photo can inspire those who are in the dark places of their life right now.

Spider Sense

Not really my best. The image is blurry as it was difficult to take a photo of a spider who jumps around. I hope I can do better tomorrow.

Freed

Remember the fella from yesterday? Well, he was still there this morning. And I examined him and saw that he was palpitating and his veins were showing up on his belly. Thus, I decided to release him from the beer bottle. But not before taking up a few shots ;)

Trapped

This fella was or is still trapped inside a beer bottle (last time I checked, he was still there). I tried shaking the bottle though to let him out. But he will not budge. So I guess I have to take his portrait like so:

R'drops

Nothing special here. Just raindrops.

Another fly bites the dust

Saw a fly chilling at the top of the aquarium. Can't. Resist. Taking. Photo.

Inspirational?

I had been seeing some photos with of inspirational writings or quotes so I decided to create my own. With a little twist:

I had been thinking about this quote for a while now so I believe it was time I wrote that shit down. lol

They did not cross the road

Took a photo of a hen and its chick and played with the tone curve to achieve the following effect:

Flower among the Ruins

Went back to the ruins the next day and took this photo:

Mile Long

ah, my blog.

It has been 4 days since I have posted a photo. So here you go:

Above is a photo of the ruins of the popular Mile Long Barracks at Corregidor Island. The photo was captured using the Pop Art magic filter of Olympus TG 620 and no editing was done afterwards.

Nozzle

Today I took a photo of a nozzle. I played with the photo and here is the outcome:

Baint Pucket

Oh what joy the mall brings to a photographer. It is home to soft light which makes the subject have better lighting and shadows.

Here is a photo of a paint bucket displayed in a shelf:

I edited this photo by playing with the tone curves until the desired effect was achieved.

Shelly

Attempted to take a photo of toothbrush bristles yesterday; no good shots. So here is a macro photo of a shell:

Antics

Okay. This post deserves more than one photo.

Earlier, I saw some Tree Ants and could not resist getting macro shots of the little fellas. Here are the results:

No post-editing were done on the photos.

I hope to encounter more of these little critters. Not in my bed of course.

The Fly

Earlier, I was looking for a good subject to shoot at and then I stumbled upon this fella:

The Fly

For this photo, I used the macro function of TG620. No post-editing were done whatsoever.

I did not know that flies were hairy. If you want to see the how hairy he is, check it out here.

Red Cross

Enter my Olympus C7000-Zoom.

It is an ever reliable camera that has been passed down to me from my two elder sisters. It is capable of Shutter and Aperture priority, and Manual as well.

Here is a photo that I took using the camera:

Red Cross

The above photo was taken using a 15-second exposure with my cellphone acting as flashlight for the lighting. The hue and contrast were adjusted as well.

[Now is the part of this article where you reflect at your sins.] Thank you.

An Attempt to Miksang

Miksang, from Wikipedia is:
a Tibetan word meaning "good eye" and represents a form of contemplative photography based on the Dharma Art teachings of Chögyam Trungpa, in which the eye is in synchronisation with the contemplative mind. The result of this particular perception of the world, combined with photography, produces a peculiar and open way of seeing the world. Miksang pictures tend to bring the observer back into the original contemplation state of the author of the picture. The pictures can bring one back to a purer perception of reality that is often neglected. Miksang involves nothing fancy, no special setup; only a visual capture, in the proper state of mind, of everyday's reality.

I woke up earlier and saw this light switch and thought that it could be a good subject. Since I was still in the process of waking myself up, my mind is still pure and is not yet polluted by the day's upcoming events. And so, I grabbed the camera, took two shots of the switch, and felt satisfaction.

On

This photo has been edited; converted to monochrome, adjusted the contrast, as well as the color tones. Taking shots is only half of the experience. Editing makes the experience whole.

This photo does not give enough appeal unless you see it in a different perspective. Everyday, people turn switches on and off. Be it literal, mental, emotional, or spiritual.

Continents

This blog is getting boring.

Below is a photo of the floor.

Continents

Okay I admit it. This photo was achieved using the dramatic magic filter of TG 620. I never knew a floor could be so dramatic. lol.

An Attempt to Bokeh

Tried to shoot Bokeh last night.

 An Attempt to Bokeh
Failed. I need my e620 badly.

Inverted

The rainy season is nigh.

This morning, I wanted to mimic the water droplets of the rain from the past night. The plan was to take photos of water droplets from the plants at the back of my house. But the plants are not cooperating. The leaves from the plants are kind of slippery. What was I thinking.

And so, creative as I am. I put some water on the chimes by the door and waited for a droplet to build up. Here is the result:

The image above has been edited. I did some cropping and adjustments on the brightness and contrast as well. No Photoshop modification were done as I do not have any working knowledge about that.

I think this image reminds us that things can be perceived differently. I also think that the wall behind the grotto needs to be painted as well. Gray is dull.

Dirty Oranges

This is a desperate attempt to create a photo blog. I believe it is time to apply the techniques that I have learned in taking pictures and try to learn some more. I wish to make this a 365-day endeavor and hopefully I can do this. My Olympus e620 is still under repair so you have to settle for my Olympus TG 620 for now. Today I learned that taking photos from a digital camera is more challenging than using a DSLR. So here it is, from today's arsenal, I present to you a photo of small oranges in a vase:

Still Life of Dirty Plastic Oranges

This vase was just sitting around the house. I wanted to do some miksang photography but it seems I still have a lot to learn about inner peace. lol. And so I ended up just taking photos of anything I can find. The light was coming from the right, it was morning so the sun was a good source of natural light for this photo. I did not do any editing as for me, this picture is perfect. Except for the dirt in the corner right of the photo.

I believe this photo depicts that life, like the photo, has different shades. I do not believe that oranges should be placed in a vase. It is just so wrong. I think this picture is just too plain. I think I can do better. I also think that the house needs some cleaning.
